ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

An excellent release from the folks at Rhino and Turner Classic Movies, complete with 24 page lavishly illustrated booklet with liner notes by CD producer George Feltenstein.

Note: The track listing as printed in the booklet and on the CD case, as well as on the CD track names themselves, accidentally switches "Ain't Nature Grand" with "I Know That You Know". We have put the corrected listing below.

A few notes about the recordings - from George Feltenstein's liner notes:

"Breezin' Along With The Breeze": The lush orchestration heard on this compilation was ultimately dropped in favor of a light trio accompaniment emanating from the characters' car radio. This was done in order to keep their braking into song within the realm of believability. This collection features the first-ever release of their [Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz'] original recording.

"The Best Things In Live Are Free": Both [stars June Allyson & Peter Lawford] got a chance to sing a chorus of the show's big hit - "The Best Things In Life Are Free" - but in different parts of the film. When M-G-M Records' soundtrack producer Jesse Kay was preparing the soundtrack album of the film, he wisely chose to combine the two disparate recordings with plot-related dialogue to create a clever duet. It is to honor Mr. Kaye's creation that the duet version is presented in this collection.
