ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:
This compilation is part of a series of re-releases of the MGM Records soundtracks by MCA Records (via the Turner Broadcasting System).  The series was the last to be released on vinyl.  Although this and Volume Two are titled "Great Music from MGM" there are a few non-MGM tracks included.  The "MCA Classic Series" insert that came with the record has a banner that reads "All-time Favorite Soundtracks from MGM and United Artists Pictures Now Available from MCA Records."  A few of the releases were also available in the compact disc format, which at that time was taking over the market.
