ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

This fascinating and rather complete compilation of Decca and MGM 78s, although not based on masters, is still worth the listen.  The discs have been nicely de-noised, and some reverb has also been added to the remastering. But, the act of cleaning them up has flattened somewhat their dynamic.  The result is that these recordings here sound somewhat muffled, and Garland’s voice thus lacks its natural warmth.  Still, as a primer to Garland in her heyday, this is not a bad collection at all.
