Although this rare Japanese import looks like a double feature of soundtracks to The Wizard Of Oz and Singin' In The Rain, it's actually another M-G-M Records compilation of songs from several M-G-M Musicals. We have never seen the American counterpoint to this album, nor a British version, so we believe it must have been made specifically as an export to countries outside the United States.

This is an interesting compilation in that it includes several songs (such as "Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise") that are not generally included in M-G-M Records compilations of the era. The "Wizard Of Oz Medley" is most likely lifted from the 1974 soundtrack to That's Entertainment!.
