ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

Just two years before That's Entertainment! was released, MGM Records released this nice compilation of some of the best performances from MGM Musicals, and Judy was heavily featured.

This two-record "gatefold" set also included a nice booklet (cover seen at right) giving a brief history of the MGM Musical as well as featuring nice photos taken directly from the films.

The recordings on this set, aside from the "Overture" to Gigi (1958), were all stereo enhanced (raising the treble on one channel and raising the bass on the second channel to give the effect of stereo - with a little bit of echo added). In spite of this, the sound quality is very good and quite enjoyable.

All images on this page from the collection of Scott Brogan.
