ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

Here is a nice 3 CD set from Portugal that encompasses Judy's Decca, soundtrack album, and even a few radio performances. Most of her hits from her films are represented here. "Buds Won't Bud" was cut from Andy Hardy Meets Debutante (1940), the version here is her Decca studio recording. And Judy did not perform "Love" nor "this Heart Of Mine" for Ziegfeld Follies (1946), but the title of the set is "Songs FROM Her Movies", not "Songs *performed by Judy* In Her Movies". No actual soundtrack recordings appear in the line-up until the MGM Records version of "Look For The Silver Lining" from Till The Clouds Roll By (1946). With no booklet or liner notes of any kind to explain this, the unsuspecting listener might think that these were all performances as performed by Judy in her movies.

Oddly, the producers chose to leave Judy's biggest song from A Star Is Born (1954), "The Man That Got Away" off the line-up.

Aside from these details, it's a great set. The sound quality is very good considering the source material, and any set that includes Judy's rarely heard Decca rendition of "I Wish I Were In Love Again" is always welcome.
